5SOS go from rags to riches in their latest video.
The "Hey Everybody" music video marks the latest release for the boyband off their upcoming record Sounds Good Feels Good out Oct. 23. The guys sample Duran Duran's "Hungry Like the Wolf" in the vid, showing them working mundane jobs like an entertainer at a costume party, dressing up as a hot dog or a stale office job. Fortunately for them, they're able to turn it around and give us peasents a glimmer of hope we, too, could live in a mansion one day and belly flop a slip-n-slide while our butler hoses us down.
A guy can dream, right?
At the time of posting, the term #HeyEverybodyMusicVideo was a world-wide trending topic on Twitter.
The guys might be enjoying money and fame, but it comes at a cost: their sanity.
“I told Luke ‘I’m fucking ing depressed, I fucking hate this, we’ve been on tour for five months, I’m living out of this piece of shit suitcase with only three wheels on it,” Ashton Irwin said to the Daily Telegraph.
Guitarist Michael Clifford chimed in, saying “this friend of mine said when you are a musician and you are touring all the time and get to the level we are, you’re an astronaut. You go up and then you come back down to earth and you can’t really explain what is like up in space. Only your fellow astronauts get it,” he says.
“We try to talk to each other and try to pull each other through. You realise there are huge ups and huge downs. And it gets tiring, you know. With relationships, it’s hard. People forget about you at home because you have been away for so long and it becomes this thing where you have just to keep going and not fall off the rails."
“The last song on the album is Carry On, which is straight-up saying you know it is going to get better. Sticking it through is always going to be worth it, no matter what.”
